The demise of ties and real men

Anti-aging expert Barbara Morris has a message for men who are confused about who they are and what’s expected of them: Shower, shave your face and put on a clean shirt, suit, and tie.
Ties have become uncool, even in business settings. That’s unfortunate because ties are a symbol of power, and power is sexy. Any woman who knows she’s a woman would prefer to see a man in a shirt and tie than in a torn, pizza-stained T- shirt and grubby shorts that reveal ugly, hairy legs.
It used to be that people knew when and how to dress appropriately. Casual Friday has morphed into anything goes anyplace. The distinction between beach and office attire no longer exists.
On TV, a financial expert sported several days worth of beard growth, and wore a rumpled sport shirt. He may have known his stuff, but he looked like he just rolled out of bed. Would anyone take him seriously? A professional look promotes credibility, respect, and ultimately, success. Would Donald Trump be seen without his gold or red power tie? Would The Donald grow a beard to cover up his face that exudes power and confidence?
By the way, whoever convinced males that beards are sexy? They are not. They are a sign of laziness, lack of self-esteem, and a need to hide from the world. A beard prevents a man from facing up to who he really is when he looks in the mirror every day.
Since men are not the tidiest of God’s creatures, beards more likely than not are a sanctuary for yesterday’s gravy drippings or even the remnants of last Thanksgiving’s turkey dinner. Women are supposed to feel good about kissing such a mess, or even being close to it?
Women who say they like beards are desperate and will put up with anything for Mr. Wonderful. How many women who love unwashed, smelly cave men have ever seen what they really look like? It matters, because character is revealed in the face.
Beards do not make males men. Beards are not a sign of masculinity. They are just an indication that the guy has some testosterone left.
Guys who adopt unwashed disheveled trendiness cheat themselves. They miss the best opportunities in business and relationships. Unfortunately, as in the story of the emperor who had no clothes on, nobody is willing to tell them naked truth.
