Sending follow up letters, announcements or flyers to your customers is one of the best ways to keep in touch. With all the hoopla surrounding email today…. spam filters, rules and regulations governing who, and what you can email; don’t forget the way you used to connect with your customers before all this technology came into play. Today everyone is complaining about junk emails. Why not be sure your message gets to your customer by sending it the “old fashioned way” with a stamp. Snail mail is still a very inexpensive way to market to your customers, and if you use mail in bulk contact the postal service at 1-800-ASK-USPS and you can get help in setting up systems that can save your business some money.

One of the ways we use snail mail is with our seminars to sellers and tenant buyers. We send to both sellers and tenant buyers a Special Invitation on 5 x 7 card stock (when folded) and place the location, date and time on the back of the card, along with our telephone number to call to guarantee their reservation. We also include a complimentary VIP ticket with the value indicated on the ticket. For example, No. 20/Complimentary VIP Ticket/$149 Value. The ticket also has the Seminar name, a picture of us, along with text that Seating is Limited and a number to call to guarantee their reservation.

When it is opened the inside of the invitation tells them we want to personally invite them as our VIP guest to attend our conference. We tell them about us. For example, featuring Chuck and Sue DeFiore renowned experts in the field of Lease Purchasing who can show you how to move your home in 30 days or less (for tenant buyers: Want to own this beautiful home? Have bad credit, bankruptcy, late pays? We have the solution to owning this home today and buying it tomorrow…) We also give them 5-8 points of what they will learn in the seminar in the top fold. The bottom fold has our picture with some of our books and manuals and tells them to turn the special invitation over to see the location, date, and time of the event. Please give us a call soon. Call (123-456-6789 or use an 800 number) to reserve your seat. Sign your name with a script font and don’t forget to put your title under your signature. Also note in bold to “see back for location and date”. Put in a PS Example: At this Innovative Home Sales conference you will learn what others have paid over $7500 to learn. Please RSVP soon as this event will be sold out.

We use this type of mailer for both free and paid seminars. Even those of you who are not running a lease purchasing business can adapt the above to your own business.

We also send brochures to both sellers and tenant buyers, post cards, and flyers. Your website works for you 24/7 but many people still want to be able to browse your information off line, so having written material (brochures, booklets, and catalogues) is very important to your business and instrumental in having a good relationship with your customer.

So be sure your customers know what your business is doing, keep in touch, the old fashioned way…snail mail.
