Job Hunting

Job hunting can seem very difficult in today’s market place. Indeed, there is now no such thing as a job for life with research showing that most people change their jobs and/or careers at least three time in their working life span.
If you are looking for a job, whether you be out of work or not, it is vitally important that you keep your resume (also known as a curriculum vitae or CV) up to date. Your resume plays an extremely important role in helping you in your job hunting efforts and winning a job over other applicants. It tells your employer all about you.
When writing or updating your resume in preparation for a job interview it is very important to include several points. When you are job hunting you will find that any prospective employer will want to have a reasonable knowledge of your past working history as well as any skills you have – particularly those relevant to the position for which you are applying.
Because of this you need to include a comprehensive list of your employment history, writing down your most recent employment first. List your skills in point form as well and include a short but concise explanation. You don’t want your resume to get too long, so keep things to the point and clear.
Also include on your resume a little bit of information about yourself. Some employers like to know what interests their employees (and prospective employees) have beyond work, so it might be nice to include a brief list of your hobbies. While you are job hunting it can be a very busy time, so it helps to update your resume as you achieve something new.
While job hunting can seem very daunting when you first get started if you keep you resume up to date, dress appropriately for any interviews and gain a good general knowledge specific to the industry before you have an interview you just might find its not so bad. So good luck, and get job hunting!
